International Women's Day here at The Peace Exchange is a special day. Two years ago in Congo we held a gathering for women near and far to talk empowerment, women's rights, advocacy, and fair trade. It was powerful to hear first hand stories from women who are so eager to make their lives better. The determination and strength of women who have suffered so much is inspiring and life changing. Because of the women in Congo and their commitment to fair trade and making a better life for themselves, we press on. The Peace Exchange takes today to pay our most sincere gratitude and thanks to our artisans in Congo. Without our seamstresses and their talented work, we would not exist.
